"Lechita" Bottle

Every time Gavin took a nap or at bed time he got a bottle. Knowing that tooth decay can occur when babies sleep with a bottle (I worked at a dental office) I would still do it, It just made things a little easlier for me. But things have changed... It has been ONE week today that he has gone to sleep without drinking a bottle in bed, he drinks it right before. Congrats to him ;> but let me tell you, it has been hard for the both of us:0 Well nap times he does pretty good, I put 2 toys that he can play with until he falls asleep. It's bedtime thats hard for him to adjust to. It breaks my heart every time I leave his room and he's crying but I know that I'm doing whats best for him. So to conclude my story he still needs a little more time to get use to.

Here comes TROUBLE

Gavin turned 8 months on Monday, and he (and Jose) is already giving me grey hairs and wrinkles. He is climbing on things, craweling FAST, and pulling up on anything he can get his hands on. But that isn't ALL he puts everything in his mouth like: fuzz from the pillows, door stoppers, and a dead scorpian(he's ok, it didn't bite him - Thank GOD). Now I know your probably thinking " of course all babies do this" but man!! its hard work ;0 but I love every minute of it.

First Time..

Last weekend while we were in San Diego Gavin meet his uncle Ricky for the first time. It was a bitter sweet moment for me. I was so gald that Ricky came down to see him cause he's getting big and I want Ricky to be in his life. Well me and my brother have a difficult relationship and like any other brother and sister we don't always see eye to eye at certain things. It was also the first time in 11 months that I had seen my brother too. And it hurt the whole time, but I was being stubburn. I should have been a better person and called him and forgave him, but I would pray every Sunday at church and tell GOD to help me be a better sister,wife and mom. I would tell myself ok today I will make an effort and call him, but than there would be that hurt inside me and I never did call him. I love him so much but I want more for him and he's trying and going through life in a steady pace, and I have to respect him for that. I can't push him when he's not ready. Seeing him on Saturday at my mom's house for dinner was the best feeling ever, it felt like all this weight had come off my shoulders. I cried and told him I loved him and that I was sorry. The next day we went to his apartment and hung out for awhile. It was nice and I know that last weekend was the best weekend of my mom's life... we were all a family again.

Baja, Mexico

So last weekend went to "OUR" home town, SAN DIEGO!!! We were there all weekend and visited family and friends. Everytime We go we're always so busy. Jose's grandma and Aunt hadn't seen Gavin since Febuary. They were shocked to see how big he is. Of course everytime we go down there Jose has about 4 different food places he stops and eats at. But not during the whole weekend we're there, he does it ALL in one day... yuck :0 And he also brings 2 burritos home to eat later. He says the burritos are so much better over there, and he's kind of right. Than on Sunday we went to my mom's beach house in Baja, MX. It's so relaxing there:> We took Gavin down to the beach and he was having fun in the sand until he put it in his mouth than I freaked out. We hang out there for a while, for being a Sunday it was pretty busy on the beach. It was Gavin's first time at the beach and in Mexico, My mom can't wait until he gets alittle older to take him and play in the water, but she already told me that I'm not invited cause I don't let him be a boy and get dirty. I guess cause his my first I want to protect him and I worry a lot, it's a " MOM THING" right?? We all had so much fun, I don't know why we don't go more often? Hopefully there will be many more trips down there to come ;>

Babysitter

Well guess how I spent my Saturday night last weekend?... Yup Babysitting, while all my cousins and Jose went to the Diamond back vs Dodgers baseball game. I was all by myself and a little scared in the beginning when they got to my house, but It actually went well!! I was babysitting a 4 year old, 1 1/2 yr. old, 1 yr. old and yes my wonderful handsome son GAVIN... who is 6 months now. I enjoyed it and it was nice to see Gavin interact with his cousins. My little cousin Isaih was so cute I called him my little "snack attack machine" he would eat all his snacks I gave him plus all the ones that would fall on the blanket and even the ones that little Myla Mae would leave behind. BOY! he was quick too, there would be snacks on the highchair and the next thing I know there all stuffed in his mouth ;> They are such good kids which made my job so much easier. (kudos to their parents!!;>) Not one of them cried and at the end of the night I gave the kids some milk, laid them down while I put Gavin to sleep and my the time I came down stair they were ALL ASLEEP. How easy was that!! Now don't get me wrong my the time everyone came back to pick up the kidos I was tried. Well I can't believe these words are going to come out of my mouth, but while I was babysitting and everything was going great I actually considered having 4 Kids because I did such a GOOD job... than I came back to reality and 4 kids would be a bit much.

Dinner at The Alfonsos

Two Sundays ago our great neighbors invited us over for dinner. Destiny made some yummy Philly cheese steak sandwiches and we had cheesecake for dessert. It always nice to hang out with them. I can't wait until Mikel, Mikah, and Gavin all play together. Now when they grown, they'll have no problem finding the girls cause Gavin has so many girl cousins ;> But I'm so sad because they will be moving soon and we'll have to now drive to their house instead of walk;> Well next time it'll be our turn to have you guys over for dinner.

Everywhere but Home!

Well be have had such a buzy last couple of weeks. We First went to one of my good cousins wedding in San Pedro, CA. We had soo much fun and danced all night long... well I needed to take some breaks, but Jose, well he had his dancing shoes on and danced ALL night long ;> Gavin stayed at Grandma's house and well he partied like a ROCK STAR. He was not in bed until 9:30pm, and I'm sure grandma was giving him a lot more milk than what mommy would given him.( you can tell by his SIZE he LOVES his milk!!) I guess those are the perks when you stay at Grandma's house. It was the first night that I wasn't going to put Gavin to sleep, I was alittle emontional but I knew he was in good hands. Our trip didn't end there we were home for about a day than flew out to El Paso, TX to see the In-Laws !!! Gavin was able to see his cousin again :> We had such a good time. We all went out to dinner with the whole family one night, got Krispy Kreme donuts, had a cook out, and R E L A X !!! Now that I'm thinking of it we pretty much just ate the whole time... yummy!!! Gavin did so good on the plane, he's just my little Jet- Setter. Our trips don't end here there are so many parties and baby showers coming up so we'll be having a pretty buzy next couple of weeks.

Graduation in Cali

Oh my goodness my little brother just graduated from 6th grade, he is growing up and I still see him as my little baby brother. I'm so proud of him he got an award for Perfect attendence and is also in Silver Honor Roll with straight A's and B's... What can I say he's just like his Big sister.. ME!!! he he he. Well thats not all, my little sister got some awards too!! Perfect Attendence and Outstanding Merit. I am the proudest Big sister in the whole wide world. I'm gald that they are on the right path in their life, and school means so much to them. I hope to be a good role model for them and I feel blessed to have them in my life. Damian and Aliyah I love you guys so much and you two make me proud.

Happy "Dadda" Day

It was my husband's 1st fathers day and we got together at my cousins house, we had a GOOD time!! There was great food and oh and I played Nintendo WII for the first time. I loved it and want it, but Jose says i want everything... which I do(I'm not going to lie), but i figured if I keep on him and tell him that I can lose weight playing the games maybe I'll get it... Just like my new car and pool:> Everything that i get there's ALWAYS a good reason for it. It was nice that Jose was able to get out of work early to spend time with me and Gavin:> I'm very LUCKY to have a great husband like him.

It feels like just yesterday....

I can't believe that Gavin is going to be 5 months next Sunday. Wow!! we're half way through the year... time flys. Well i was reminiscing at some old pictures of gavin and couldn't believe how small he looked when i had him. He's growing every day and becoming a big boy. He gots the hang of rolling over and that's all he wants to do when i put him on his back. He is even sleeping on his tummy which i don't like too much cause it just makes me worry, but people asure me that if he can pick his head up that he's fine. Let me tell you this boy can eat.. Gavin is also eating rice cereal now, and I give it to him once a day which replaced 1 bottle. He can tear up his bowl like nothing. I just love him soooo much.
